History
Temple Sholom, founded in 1867 and one of Chicago's oldest synagogues, has always affirmed Judaism as a dynamic and motivating force in the lives of its congregants. The Temple sits in the forefront of Reform Judaism–educating both young and old, presenting lectures and programs of broad appeal, serving the disadvantaged in the community and helping those searching for new forms of worship and expression within Jewish heritage. We are dedicated to:- embracing all people who desire affiliation and are committed to a Jewish way of life
- offering a strong schedule of worship services and a liturgy that draws on the best of modern idioms while remaining anchored in tradition
- serving our members and their families with a wealth of program and educational opportunities
