"The Crown Family High School is a great place to get a better idea of what role Judaism plays in your life. It teaches us about our religion beyond the Torah, traditional customs, and other important parts of Judaism; the high school program focuses more on how Judaism affects who we are as young adults and how we can continue to maintain a relationship with Judaism throughout our lives."

– Dale Golden, Crown School graduate

Crown Family High School/Tichon Shalom
Crown Family High School/Tichon Shalom, leads to Graduation/Confirmation at the end of 12th grade and is open to students in grades 9 through 12, whose parents are Temple members. We meet on Wednesday evenings and our faculty consists of the Rabbis, Cantor,  and Youth Advisor.

The evening begins with dinner and social time, followed by Maariv (Evening Worship), and a class session. Subjects studied in the past include: Thinking about God; Judaism and Other Religions; Sacred Choices: Adolescent Relationships and Sexual Ethics; Packing for College; and Jewish Mysticism. Finally, trips to Washington, D.C. and Israel, when feasible, are part of the program.

The goals of the program are:
•To provide the students with a welcoming, safe, social environment in which to connect to other Jewish teens, to the clergy and to the synagogue.
•To provide students an opportunity to explore Jewish beliefs, practices, and traditions.
•To instill values which promote the survival of the Jewish people and Jewish family.
•To generate enthusiasm and love for the Jewish people and our way of life.
•To provide students with the tools needed to function as articulate Jews on the college campus and beyond.
