Our 7th grade classes are planning to visit the museum in Skokie where they will have guided tours of the exhibit, a discussion led by the curator, and the rare opportunity to meet a survivor.
In order to maximize the students’ experience at the museum, the classes leading up to the trip will be dedicated to preparing them for the topics and concepts that will be presented to them. This is a crucial time for your child to be involved in our class discussion. We would also like to encourage you to continue the conversation at home. The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Skokie is a powerful museum and has been instrumental in promoting Holocaust education around the country. Many of the current artifacts on display belonged to survivors living in the Chicago area.
