Juliana Schafer - Member Spotlight
Juliana, her husband Chad and their six-year-old daughter Izzy, joined Temple Sholom when Izzy
was just over a year old. They began by attending Tot Shabbat Services and soon branched out
into other activities, where they always received a warm welcome from the Rabbis, staff and
congregants. They were especially delighted at Temple Sholom’s embrace of interfaith families as
Chad is not Jewish.
Juliana refers to herself as an “organizational nut” and has put that to good use as Cochair of Mishpacha (with Pam Lookatch), Programming Chair of Sisterhood, a member of
the Communications Committee, and a past member of the Gala Committee. We are grateful
to Juliana for allowing us to be the beneficiaries of all that “nuttiness”!
Daughter Izzy, who will be starting her third year in Religious School, thinks of Temple Sholom as her second home and enjoys the Family-Friendly Shabbat programs, her Sunday School classes, the Feed the Hungry program and all the Mishpacha events. Izzy, Chad and Juliana have found many good friends at Temple and encourage their nonmember friends to join and become part of this exciting time of transformation at Temple Sholom.
