Membership at Temple Sholom
Considering membership at Temple Sholom?
Temple Sholom is a diverse inclusive congregation, representative of our urban demographic. We embody a strong commitment to informed and purposeful Jewish living and the pursuit of human dignity.
Jews and Jewish experiences are rooted in the community. To that end, we blend the the teachings of our heritage with relevence to secular and modern culture. Our inclusive and participatory worship Services, our commitment to Social Action and our emphasis on Jewish education for people of all ages offer multiple entry points to make membership meaningful. Our Adult Education program—like our Gan Shalom Early Childhood Education Center, Religious School, and Crown Family High School—is flourishing.
As a Reform synagogue and member of the Union for Reform Judaism, Temple Sholom has been serving the Jewish community in Chicago for nearly 150 years. Our history is rich, yet we always evolve, adapting and adopting rituals and practices that continue to define the Reform movement.

Being involved and an active member at Temple Sholom has been very fulfilling for me and my family. We have met and really gotten to know amazing people, have participated in fantastic programs and feel lucky to be a part of such a wonderful Jewish institution.Alice Berger, Temple commitee and board member
