The Monday Meal is now in its seventh year, serving 50 plus guests nearly every Monday evening.
As a measure of dignity, our guests are served a hot, plated meal in a dining room setting in the Lake Shore Lobby. Volunteers plan the meal, cook, serve and clean up beginning at 3:30 for the preparation shift until 8:00 for the clean up shift. The program is self-funded through generous sponsorships, and has become one of the most popular ways of volunteering at Temple Sholom. Adolescents frequently participate as part of their Mitzvah project in preparing for Bar and Bat Mitzvah. We welcome your involvement, occasionally or on a regular basis.
SUMMER DOUBLE SERVICE HOURS - we are giving double service credits for High Schoolers who participate June 1 - Sept 1!

Since the program started in 2004, Temple Sholom has served over 15,000 meals to the homeless in Lakeview. I am very proud to be one of the organizers of the Monday Meal Program.
