Protocol For In-Person Attendance at Temple Sholom Shabbat Services

PLEASE NOTE: If you have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past fourteen (14) days or if you are not feeling well and/or experiencing symptoms of an illness, we respectfully ask that you do not attend this week's Shabbat Service in person.  We do, however, invite you to join us for a meaningful online experience.

Currently, Temple Sholom of Chicago is offering in-person, on-site Shabbat Services.  When entering the Temple, congregants are required to adhere to our community’s COVID-19 protocol, as adopted by our congregation's COVID-19 Task Force on Health and Safety:

  • Guests must wear face masks when entering the building and at all times while in the building.
  • Upon entry, guests must check-in at the Stratford Place entrance.
  • Upon entry, guests should use the hand sanitizing station located in the Stratford Place Lobby.
  • After checking-in, guests must proceed directly to the Sanctuary and sit in designated seating areas.
  • Guests should use the hallway leading to the Sanctuary, adhering to markings on the ground and signage designating flow of traffic.
  • Guests will have the choice of sitting in one of two seating areas; one of these areas will allow for social distancing.
  • Guests who are not vaccinated are encouraged to maintain a social distance of 6' from those not in their immediate household and to sit in the seating area with social distancing.
  • Congregants will be dismissed from the Sanctuary by Temple Sholom Clergy in a manner that encourages social distancing.
  • Congregants should exit the building when dismissed from the Sanctuary.
  • Absolutely no food or drink may be consumed in the building before, during, or after the service.
