Join us for a meaningful Shabbat service featuring author Amy Fish, in recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27). Amy Fish is joining us as part of the 2026 Elaine and Monroe Roth Speaker program.
Tonight's Service will feature author, Amy Fish. Amy will share reflections from her historical fiction novel One in Six Million, a powerful story of loss, survival, and the enduring search for identity during the Holocaust. The book follows Maria, an infant found abandoned on a roadside in Poland in 1942 with only her name and birthdate pinned to her blanket, and traces the extraordinary journey that unfolds as she searches for her origins and the truth of her family’s fate.
Through storytelling grounded in history, One in Six Million invites readers to bear witness to the human impact behind the numbers and to reflect on memory, resilience, and moral responsibility across generations.
Amy Fish is an author, teacher, and speaker whose work blends historical narrative with deep personal insight. She has published two books and regularly teaches writing workshops, specializing in memoir and humor writing. Her work has appeared in Writer’s Digest, Canadian Traveller, and other publications.
