Tisha B'Av with Makom and Base Andersonville

Saturday, August 6, 2022 9 Av 5782

7:00 PM - 10:00 PMIn person at Base Andersonville

Tisha B’Av is a holiday that calls us to consider the danger of Jewish disunity, unacknowledged pain, and baseless hatred. It’s also a holiday to help channel our focus toward the new year and resetting ourselves on a path of t’shuva (healing).

This Tisha B'Av, we invite you to be an author of the Jewish Tradition and claim your spot as a sacred healer. Experienced and novice poets, fans of poetry, bring your original or favorite poems that speak to the themes of Tisha B'Av - destruction, heartbreak, shame, hope, reconstruction, healing, and resilience.

In partnership with Rav Jonathan at Base Andersonville, we’ll have a pre-fast meal together at 7:00 PM! Starting at 8:00 PM, we’ll share and discuss our poetry. At 8:49 PM, we’ll recite Havdalah and read Eicha (the book of Lamentations, traditionally read on Tisha B'Av) together. We plan to have the formal reading of Eicha last under an hour.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
