Shabbat Service with Guest Scholar Judith Heumann
Friday, February 5, 2021 • 23 Sh'vat 5781
6:15 PM - 8:00 PMWhen we think about historic figures who have come to Temple Sholom in the past including Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King Jr., Elie Wiesel, and Bryan Stevenson, we reflect on how we were galvanized as a community to implement change and progress. In that vein, we welcome Judith Heumann, recognized internationally as a leader in the disability community and lifelong civil rights advocate. On Friday night, February 5, Judy Heumann, author of "Being Heumann: An Unrepentant Memoir of a Disability Rights Activist," will create another historic evening for Temple Sholom that will transform our community to become more inclusive and accessible even as we learn how to become more effective advocates.
Join the conversation with Judith, Rabbi Conover and Disability Advocate Lia Niederberger.
