“It is a tree of life to all who grasp it, and whoever holds on to it is happy;
its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its paths are peace.” (Proverbs 3:17-18)
Youth Engagement
One of our priorities at Temple Sholom is to offer opportunities for our young people to meaningfully connect with each other, the synagogue, and with the broader community.

Noar Shalom & Chavrei Shalom Junior Youth Groups
Several times each year we invite students in 3rd-8th grades to gather for fun and socializing (and a little Jewish content) as part of the Temple community. These programs are open to all 3rd-8th graders, whether or not they are enrolled in our Religious School/Beit Sefer Shalom. Chavrei Shalom refers to students in 3rd-5th grades. Noar Shalom refers to students in 6th-8th grades. Both of these cohorts have individual youth events, as well as combined events throughout the year.

Orr Shalom – High School Youth Group
Our senior youth group for teens is led by our Orr Shalom High School Youth Executive Board and participates in monthly social action projects, social events, and Temple events. Members of the board help to facilitate the 5th-8th grade retreat, represent our youth at congregational events and committee meetings, and work as Madrichim (teaching assistants) in the Religious School.
Weeknight Kef (fun) Club
3rd-7th graders have the opportunity to socialize or work on homework in our “Kef (fun) Club” with our Youth Engagement Coordinator before Midweek Hebrew on Wednesdays. Snacks will be provided each week for all students registered.
