“It is a tree of life to all who grasp it, and whoever holds on to it is happy;
its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its paths are peace.” (Proverbs 3:17-18)

Youth Engagement

One of our priorities at Temple Sholom is to offer opportunities for our young people to meaningfully connect with each other, the synagogue and with the broader community.

These programs are open to all 3rd – 8th grade students, whether or not they are enrolled in our Religious School/Beit Sefer ShalomChavrei Shalom refers to students in 3rd-5th grades. Noar Shalom refers to students in 6th-8th grades. Both of these cohorts have individual youth events, as well as combined events throughout the year.

Orr Shalom – High School Youth Group

Our senior youth group for teens is led by our Orr Shalom High School Youth Executive Board and participates in monthly social action projects, social events, and Temple events. Members of the board help to facilitate the 5th-8th grade retreat, represent our youth at congregational events and committee meetings, and work as Madrichim (teaching assistants) in the Religious School.

Weeknight Kef (fun) Club

3rd-7th graders have the opportunity to socialize or work on homework in our “Kef (fun) Club” with our Youth Engagement Coordinator in our 4th Floor Clonick Youth Lounge (CYL) before and/or after Midweek Hebrew. Snacks and pizza are available for purchase on an annual basis.
