Selma Blair's long-standing career began with her comedic roles in pop culture classics in the early 2000s and has continued with more recent roles including The People V. O.J. Simpson. In 1999, Blair played the role of Cecile Caldwell in Cruel Intentionsand is perhaps best known for her scene-stealing performance as Vivian Kensington in Legally Blonde. On stage, Blair starred in the world premiere production of Rajiv Joseph'sGruesome Playground Injuries, and she received a Grammy nomination for Best Spoken Word Album for Children for her powerful reading of The Diary of Anne Frank. Blair was named one of Time Magazine's People of The Year in 2017. In her memoir Mean Baby, Blair tells her captivating story about growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, attending Jewish day school, struggling with her identity, and ultimately, finding her truth. Over the course of the beautiful and sometimes devastating memoir, she lays bare her addiction to alcohol, her devotion to her brilliant and complicated mother, and the moments she flirted with death. There is violence, love, friendship, the gift of motherhood, and, finally, the surprising salvation of a multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Now, Blair is also the subject of the documentary Introducing, Selma Blair, which reveals Blair's intimate and raw journey about adapting and living life with MS. The documentary premiered to great acclaim and has received numerous honors including the Critics" Choice Documentary Award. Blair resides in Los Angeles.
