Makom Presents: Catskills Shabbat

Friday, May 17, 2024 9 Iyar 5784

6:30 PM - 9:00 PMIn Person at Temple Sholom

Come one, come all to a Shabbat of summering in the Catskills - also known as the Borscht Belt or the Yiddish Alps. We will sing, we will laugh, we will eat delicious, weird 50s themed food. Bring your best Mrs. Maisel attire and a joke or two.

The evening will be catered by Dylan Maysick of Diaspora Dinners and artistically designed by Rachel Ellison of Bat Sarah Press. We are also excited to announce our stand-up guest, Temple Sholom's own Delilah Orizaba!

Here's the schedule:
6:30-7:00 PM - snacks, schmoozing, punch in large punch bowls
7:00-8:45 PM - a creative and delightful service incorporated into dinner, catskills style, etc.

We can't wait to see you there! This is also Rabbi Singer's last Makom event, come wish her well as she heads to San Francisco!

This event is for those ages 21-39. If you are outside of that age range, we invite you to participate in one of our many other community groups!

The cost to attend is $10 for Temple Sholom members, and $18 for non-Temple Sholom members.*

We often reach capacity for our events. Because of this, we strongly recommend registering by Thursday, May 15 at 10:00 PM, in order to secure your spot. If you have dietary restrictions, please register at least 5 days in advance in order to help us best welcome you and accommodate your needs. Thank you in advance!

*We charge a small fee in order to subsidize the cost of this event, but finances should never be a barrier to participation. If the fee for this event is cost-prohibitive for you, please reach out to Rabbi Singer at rabbisinger@sholomchicago.org to discuss options.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
