6:30 PM - 9:00 PMIn Person at Temple Sholom
To Our 20s & 30s Community,
We are thinking of you in this time that is simultaneously normal (the seasons are changing! We’re living our lives!) and awful (war! violence! Antisemitism! Anti muslim sentiment!) at the same time.
There are no perfect or correct ways to respond to this moment, but one way is by just getting together. It's so awesomely powerful to be together as a community and chat and sing and eat, and we’re going to be needing that comfort for a while.
For this Makom Shabbat, we will be getting together and specifically eating a lot of carbs. Please join us for Strega Nona Shabbat.
Strega Nona is a children's book by Tomie dePaola, depicting the tale of a "Grandma Witch" and her helper, Big Anthony, who with the help of Strega Nona's magic pasta pot, accidentally create so much pasta that it nearly floods and buries their town! We can't wait to be buried in pasta with you!
This event is open to all people ages 21-39! The cost to attend is free for Temple Sholom members, and $18 for non-Temple Sholom members.*
We often reach capacity for our events. Because of this, we strongly recommend registering by Thursday, Nov. 16 at 10:00 PM, in order to secure your spot. If you have dietary restrictions, please register at least 5 days in advance in order to help us best welcome you and accommodate your needs. Thank you in advance!
We can't wait to see you there!
*We charge a small fee in order to subsidize the cost of this event, but finances should never be a barrier to participation. If the fee for this event is cost-prohibitive for you, please reach out to Rabbi Singer at rabbisinger@sholomchicago.org to discuss options.
Sorry, Registration has ended.
