Shabbat Service ft. Women of Temple Sholom (WTS)

Friday, March 4, 2022 1 Adar II 5782

6:15 PM - 7:30 PMZoom and Facebook Live

Join the Temple Sholom community to welcome in Shabbat either in person or online.

Women of Temple Sholom (WTS) will present its annual Women’s Shabbat during the Friday night service on March 4, with special readings of the words of Jewish feminists. Our speaker will be Fern Finkle, Regional Advisor for Chicago Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom, an organization dedicated to building relationships between Muslim and Jewish women, dispelling hateful stereotypes that harm both groups, and advocating for human rights and social justice for all. She will discuss the group’s new film, Stranger/Sister, the story of two ordinary women, one Muslim and one Jewish, who put aside their mutual distrust to try to stop the wave of white supremacist hate surging across the US. The film was featured in January’s Jewish Film Festival. This special Shabbat is held each year to coincide with International Women’s Day.
