WTS - Two Kitchens, Two Traditions

Monday, August 24, 2020 4 Elul 5780

6:30 PM - 8:00 PMZoom

Please join us by Zoom on Monday, August 24th at 6:30 pm, CST, when two guest chefs will share Rosh Hashanah dishes in the Israeli/Sephardic and American/Ashkenazi styles. Our new Rabbi Rena Singer will tie the evening together with the history, meaning and spirituality behind our Jewish New Year traditions. Together with WTS, we can make this year’s holiday a special one in these unusual times! The event is free, but registration is required. Please register below and the zoom link will be sent in the e-mail confirmation.

One of our celebrity chefs is a returning favorite, Fran Rossoff, who will share two of her favorite Rosh Hashanah dessert recipes. She will also give us a look at her new dining room with a Zoom-worthy tablescape and creative centerpiece ideas.

Sharing a delicious Middle Eastern entrée and colorful side dish is Israeli born Sigy Rafalovitz, who believes cooking creates lasting memories. As head chef at AMITA St. Joseph Joliet as well as caterer for events and families, Sigy creates eclectic menus with international influences, and shares valuable techniques and ingredient information to enhance the culinary experience.

WTS would love to know your own cherished holiday recipes. We will compile submitted recipes and make them available exclusively to our WTS members later in the year. If you wish to share, please CLICK HERE fill out the attached link no later than Wednesday, August 26th.
