Lifelong Learning Mission Statement
As our Lifelong Learning mission statement says, “we are committed to learning that embraces, inspires, and matters to our congregation and community at every age and level.”
- We embrace our students as they are, welcoming them to feel part of something bigger.
- We inspire children to learn about themselves, using tools rooted in our tradition to be a force for good.
- We matter by making spiritual growth a priority amidst a sea of change, improving ourselves and thereby the world.
During the past year at Beit Sefer Shalom Religious School and Crown Family High School, our learning theme, "Mah Gadlu: A Year Of Inspired Thinking," couldn't have felt more relevant as we focused on inspiration in the world around us, even in these challenging times.
Structure of Upcoming Year
As we look toward Fall 2022, we are committed to providing a high-quality Jewish educational experience that prioritizes the health and safety of all involved. Vaccinations will continue to be required for all Religious School Faculty, Madrichim and students who are eligible to be vaccinated. Masking will be required during Religious School, Midweek Hebrew and associated programming for any vaccine eligible students who remain unvaccinated. Protocols may be adapted during the year to remain compliant with all current federal, state and local regulations, in partnership with Temple Sholom's COVID-19 Health & Safety Task Force, and any changes will be communicated to parents and posted on our website.
We know from your survey responses that offering a hybrid program this past year allowed our community to stay connected in powerful ways, but given the choice, in-person learning is strongly preferred. Sunday JK-8th Grade Classes will be offered in person only at this time, and we will be sending curriculum details for each grade in the coming weeks.
Based on your feedback, we will continue to offer our Midweek Hebrew program both online and in person, with classes being staffed based on enrollment as of August 1. You will have the opportunity to select your preference with registration and make changes as long as there is sufficient interest. We are excited to bring back our "Kef (Fun) Club" early dropoff/late pickup program, which we will offer from 4:30-5:00 PM and 6:00-6:30 PM on Wednesdays before/after Hebrew classes as a time for socializing with pizza and snacks provided.
For teens, we offer many opportunities, including our Wednesday evening Crown Family High School and our Madrichim Teacher Assistant Program. Click here for details!
