Temple Sholom's Purim Bash 2025!
This year, we're celebrating with A Very Wicked Purim!

We're bringing the festivities to Barcocina in Lakeview on Thursday, March 13th, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Embrace the spirit of Purim, a holiday dedicated to merriment, feasting, and the triumph of Jewish perseverance, as we come together to flip our world upside down in the most delightful way.

6:30 PM: The bash kicks off at Barcocina with a welcoming mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to toast to our shared joy, accompanied by a selection of heavy appetizers, setting the stage for an evening of festivity and merriment.
-
7:30 PM: Dive into the heart of Purim with engaging Purim festivities, bringing the story of Esther and the triumph of Jewish perseverance to life with a modern twist.
-
9:00 PM: As the night draws to a close, we bid farewell until next year, leaving with hearts full of joy and memories that will last until we gather again.

-
costumes with weapons
-
costumes with blood/gore
-
costumes depicting a race, culture, ethnicity, or identity apart from your own
We love this blog article from ReformJudaism.org with more helpful guidelines! When in doubt, it's probably best left at home. Thank you for supporting these values so we can ensure that everyone has the best night possible!
**We charge a fee in order to subsidize the cost of this event, but finances should never be a barrier to participation. If the fee for this event is cost-prohibitive for you, please reach out to Jude Kamler at jude@sholomchicago.org to discuss options.
