Havdalah for Trans Resiliency & Night of Community Learning

Monday, June 26, 2023 7 Tammuz 5783

6:30 PM - 9:00 PMIn Person at Temple Sholom

Join us for a Havdalah ritual (it's kosher to do Havdalah up until Tuesday night!) to stand up against hate towards our transgender and non-binary siblings.

Co-sponsored by Anshe Emet, Mishkan Chicago, and Keshet, together we will:

  • Create a unique and meaningful Havdalah ritual, incorporating poetry and storytelling

  • Learn from representatives from Keshet about current anti-LGBTQ+ legislative attacks and strategies to combat them

  • Build relationships, make new connections, and hold space for each other to be seen

  • Enjoy delicious food and drink

  • Take pride in the fact that our Jewish values empower us to take action!

This special night is one that you won't want to miss. Our hope is that by coming together as one community, we will build solidarity between those most affected by the numerous amount of anti-trans and anti-queer legislative attacks across the country, and all those who are allies of the LGBTQ+ community.

Together, we can affirm our belief that trans, non-binary, and gender expansive individuals are holy and deserve to live lives free of hatred, violence, and discrimination.

This event is great for those ages 12 & up with parental supervision.
