You Can Run, But You Can’t Hide – Exploring the Book of Jonah on Yom Kippur
In person only Temple Sholom - Library
Join Rabbi Antman for an afternoon of study as we explore the concepts of flight, fear, and personal confrontation in the Book of Jonah.
Synagogue of Service: Turning Values into Action
Mixed presence - Temple Sholom - Beit Midrash
Our tradition teaches, “Whoever saves a single life is considered to have saved the whole world” (Talmud, Sanhedrin 37a). Guided by this call to tikkun olam (repairing the world) join Rabbi Gellman and Sholom Justice Co-chairs Maddie Sulkin and Zach Friedmayer for an inspiring conversation about transforming hope into action. Together, we’ll explore Jewish teachings on justice and learn about meaningful opportunities, those within Temple Sholom and across Chicago and Illinois, to make a difference. Come discover how you can be part of creating change.
Awakening the Innerworkings of Our Hope through Music and Meditation
Mixed presence - Temple Sholom - Sanctuary
Through poetry, song, prayer, and precious silence, join Cantor Sheera Ben-David, Rabbi Shoshanah Conover, and Temple Sholom Musicians as we nourish our spirits through the wellspring of hope.
Meditative Nature Walk
In person only; Self-Guided
Join us in the sanctuary for a reflective song with our clergy and to pick up a special journal to guide your spiritual self-guided walk on Yom Kippur afternoon.
